Metropolitan Canteens embarked upon its ambition to provide valuable canteen operations in 1991 with a contract to operate one canteen. Since then our contracts have expanded to include over 150 schools in various states/territories around Australia including Victoria, Canberra, Queensland and South Australia. Our policy of controlled steady growth means we continue to expand while Metropolitan Canteens continues to guarantee schools a financial return from their canteen operation.

We are family owned and operated in each state with Steve as owner/director in Victoria.

Steven Booth

With over 25 years of experience in the school canteen and café industry, Steven oversees operations across multiple schools in both the private and government sectors. He is known for building strong, collaborative relationships with schools, staff and suppliers, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

As a qualified Food Safety Supervisor with extensive expertise in canteen and café design and equipment procurement, Steven brings practical insight and strategic leadership to every project.

Marilyn Green

With more than 26 years of experience in hospitality and school canteen operations, Marilyn brings strong practical knowledge and leadership to her role. After starting her career as a café cook, she went on to manage a primary school canteen for 17 years before joining Metropolitan Canteens, where she has been a valued team member for 12 years.

Marilyn is committed to supporting schools with efficient operations, consistent quality, and a positive canteen experience for students and staff.
